Important: Potential Printing issue in OpenFreight/Open360 for QZ Tray

We’re aware of a recent issue potentially affecting printing from OpenFreight and Open360 when using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Written by TIG Freight

What’s happening?

Recent security updates in Chrome and Edge require users to explicitly allow browser access to local devices (such as printers).

Because label and document printing via QZ Tray relies on a secure local connection, printing may fail if this permission is blocked.

This change is driven by browser security updates (not by OpenFreight or Open360), and affects any browser‑based system that prints via local services.

How to resolve (user‑level fix)

Please follow the steps below on the workstation where printing is required:

  1. Open OpenFreight or Open360 in Google Chrome or Edge

  2. Click the lock icon next to the website address (left of the URL)

  3. Select Site settings

  4. Locate Local network access

  5. Change it from Block to Allow

  6. Reload the page and retry printing

⚠️ Important:
If the browser permission popup was previously dismissed multiple times, Chrome/Edge may have auto‑blocked the connection. The steps above will reset it.

No data is affected, and this change only allows the browser to communicate with the local print service already installed on your device.

If you continue to experience issues after applying these steps, please let us know by contacting our support team with the following information:

  • Your browser (Chrome or Edge)

  • Your operating system (Windows or macOS)

  • Whether QZ Tray is running when you attempt to print
